REEVE, Arthur

No.10602931, Trooper, Arthur REEVE
Aged 23

46th Regiment, Reconnaissance Corps
Killed in Action on Wednesday, 17th January 1945

Arthur Reeve was born in 1921 in Isleham (Newmarket Q4-1921 3B:980), the son of Frederick and Sarah Ann REEVE (née TUCK ).
They lived at 4 Council House, Maltings Lane, Isleham in 1939 - father Frederick [1-9-1884] sandpit gravel digger; mother Sarah [27-8-1886]; brother Frederick J [16-8-1920] a farm labourer and brother George W [25-3-1923] a baker's assistant.(3 closed records)

The assumption is that Arthur was killed in action. He was the only one of his unit to die that day. The Reconnaissance Corps were the forward scouts of the Army, using fast but lightly armoured vehicles for the most part.
